Kunchikal falls is a first highest water in Karnataka, and the second highest waterfall in Asia. It is also an first highest waterfall in India and ranks 116th in height in the world. This waterfall is also used in the high power electricity generation, for this purpose Hydroelectric plant is built up under the waterfall. Mani dam is constructed near the Masthikatte at the base of the Kunchikal waterfall, which slows down the flow of water.
Kunchikal falls is in the forest where there are restrictions for the public, even though if you want to visit this place, you must have to take permission letter from KPC office Hosangadi before to visit this waterfall. Rainy season is the most suitable time to visit.
